“Letter To You”, le nouvel album de Bruce Springsteen, est sorti fin octobre. Le boss et son E-Street Band ont encore frappé ! Que c’est beau !
“Letter To You” est composé de 9 nouvelles compositions et de 3 titres (Janey Needs a Shooter – If I Was the Priest – Song for Orphans) écrits dans les seventies qui ont été réarrangés. Il a été enregistré en une semaine, en conditions de live. Ils ont tout gardé sans réenregistrer ou ajouter quoi que ce soit. Après 7 ans sans écrire pour le groupe, Bruce Springsteen revient avec un album profondément sincère et rock comme on aime. “One Minute You’re Here” ouvre magnifiquement cet album et annonce le ton. La perte d’êtres chers est un thème très présent dans ce disque. Le temps qui passe également. Des ballades aux chansons plus rock, les 12 titres passent trop vite malgré des morceaux de plus de 6 min ! À l’écoute de plusieurs titres de cet album, on ne peut pas ne pas penser aux “anciens” de l’E-Street Band, Danny Federici et Clarence Clemons. Un coup de cœur particulier pour la magnifique “House of Thousand Guitars”. On s’imagine bien, debout en fosse, en train d’allumer notre briquet dès les premières notes … Une tournée était prévue en 2021, malheureusement, vu la situation sanitaire, elle est reportée, mais on a hâte de pouvoir les voir présenter cet album sur scène ! Un document qui s’appelle lui aussi “Letter to You” est disponible sur Apple TV. Il a été réalisé par Thom Zimny (qui avait déjà fait Springsteen on Broadway).
